Cilostazol is a phosphodiesterase-3 (PDE3) inhibitor with antiplatelet and vasodilating properties, used to reduce the symptoms of intermittent claudication and improve walking distance in patients with peripheral arterial disease. The typical dose is 100 mg orally twice daily, taken at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after meals; a reduced dose of 50 mg twice daily is used with certain CYP3A4 or CYP2C19 inhibitors. Common side effects include headache, diarrhea, abnormal stools, dizziness, and palpitations. Cilostazol and other drugs of this class have been shown to reduce survival in patients with class III-IV congestive heart failure, and it is contraindicated in patients with heart failure of any severity.

Amlodipine is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure and chest pain caused by coronary artery disease. As a calcium channel blocker (CCB), it relaxes blood vessels, allowing the heart to pump more easily and efficiently. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease. Amlodipine can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medications. It is available by prescription only and should be taken exactly as directed by a healthcare provider. Do not stop taking it suddenly, as this may worsen chest pain or increase blood pressure.

Hydrochlorothiazide is a prescription thiazide diuretic used to treat high blood pressure and fluid retention (edema) associated with heart failure, kidney disease, or certain medications. It works by helping the kidneys eliminate excess salt and water through urine, reducing both blood pressure and swelling. Hydrochlorothiazide should be taken exactly as prescribed, typically once daily in the morning. Patients should remain well-hydrated and have their electrolyte levels monitored periodically, as hydrochlorothiazide can cause decreases in potassium and sodium levels.

Lisinopril, a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), heart failure, and to improve survival after a heart attack. Lisinopril belongs to a class of drugs called ACE inhibitors, which work by relaxing blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily. Taken once daily, it helps lower blood pressure, reduce strain on the heart, and decrease the risk of stroke and heart attack. Lisinopril should be taken exactly as directed by a healthcare provider.

Zestoretic (Generic Lisinopril / HCTZ) combines lisinopril, an ACE inhibitor, with hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ), a diuretic, to help lower high blood pressure. Together, they relax blood vessels and remove excess salt and water from the body, reducing strain on the heart and lowering the risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems. It is usually taken once daily as a tablet. Zestoretic is available by prescription only and should be used under a healthcare providers guidance.

Losartan is a prescription medication classified as an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), used to treat high blood pressure and reduce the risk of stroke in certain patients with hypertension. It is also prescribed to help protect kidney function in individuals with type 2 diabetes and hypertension. Losartan works by blocking the effects of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict, thereby promoting vasodilation and improving blood flow. It is taken orally and is intended for long-term management of cardiovascular and renal conditions.

Metoprolol succinate (Toprol XL) is a prescription beta-blocker used to treat high blood pressure, chest pain (angina), and heart failure, and to improve survival after a heart attack. It works by slowing the heart rate and relaxing blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood. Metoprolol succinate is an extended-release form, usually taken once daily. Metoprolol succinate is available only with a prescription and should be taken exactly as directed by a healthcare provider.
Cilostazol (Pletal) is a phosphodiesterase-3 inhibitor with antiplatelet and vasodilating effects, used to reduce symptoms of intermittent claudication and improve walking distance in people with peripheral arterial disease. It should be taken on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after meals.
Boxed Warning: Cilostazol and other drugs in its class have been shown to decrease survival in patients with class III-IV congestive heart failure. Cilostazol is contraindicated in patients with heart failure of any severity.
Common side effects include headache, diarrhea, abnormal stools, dizziness, and palpitations. It should be used cautiously with other antiplatelet or anticoagulant medications due to increased bleeding risk.
