Dymista (azelastine hydrochloride and fluticasone propionate) is a prescription nasal spray that combines an antihistamine and a corticosteroid in a single device to treat symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) — including sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose, and nasal congestion — in patients 6 years of age and older whose symptoms are not controlled by either medication alone. The usual dose is one spray in each nostril twice daily (morning and evening). Shake the bottle gently before each use, and prime the pump before the first use or if it has not been used for several days. Azelastine, the antihistamine component, may cause drowsiness or a bitter taste after use; avoid alcohol and other sedating medications while using this product, and use caution with activities requiring alertness, such as driving, until you know how it affects you. Fluticasone, the corticosteroid component, works best with regular, consistent use and may take several days for full effect. Common side effects include nosebleeds, headache, bitter taste, nasal discomfort, and drowsiness. Rare but serious risks associated with the corticosteroid component include slowed growth in children, increased pressure in the eyes (glaucoma or cataracts) with long-term use, and a small risk of nasal septum perforation with prolonged use — tell your prescriber if you experience vision changes, nasal crusting/bleeding, or whistling sounds when breathing through your nose.

Shake the bottle gently before each use. Prime the pump before the first use, and re-prime if the spray has not been used for several days. Use one spray in each nostril, twice daily (morning and evening), tilting your head slightly forward and avoiding spraying directly onto the nasal septum.
Tell your prescriber if you experience: vision changes or eye pain (rare risk of increased eye pressure or cataracts with long-term steroid use), nasal crusting, recurrent nosebleeds, or a whistling sound when breathing through the nose (rare risk of nasal septum perforation with prolonged use). In children, growth should be monitored periodically during long-term treatment.
