Bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03% (Latisse) is a prostaglandin analog applied topically to the base of the upper eyelashes once nightly using the provided sterile applicator, to treat hypotrichosis (inadequate or insufficient eyelashes) and increase their length, thickness, and darkness. Apply only to the skin at the base of the upper lashes with a single drop per applicator; do not apply to the lower lash line and blot any excess. Remove contact lenses before application and reinsert 15 minutes later. Results are gradual, typically noticeable around 2 months, and are reversible after discontinuation. Key warnings include possible permanent darkening of the iris, reversible darkening of the eyelid skin, hair growth in areas of repeated contact, and reduced intraocular pressure, so patients using glaucoma medications should be monitored.

Important warnings:
Do not apply to the lower eyelid margin. Contact a physician if signs of eye infection or injury occur, or if you develop new eye symptoms.
